Mt Kenya, Kamweti Route Kirinyaga

The tropical rainforest in Mt.Kenya forest  trails present an awesome opportunity to interact with nature at its best.After a hours walk, you get to the Castle Forest Lodge entrance which marks the end of a vehicle trail and begins the use of old elephant and buffalo trails.

After the lodge and a visit to two small waterfalls, the trail gets deeper into the forest now following animal tracks. The highlight of the hike is the majestic ford waterfalls. The trail around the waterfall is thick and takes some challenge to get to but is all very worth the while. Return to the start point can be creatively changed to using the forest trails.
