Strange Sports from around the world

Sports are an important part of a persons growth and development. They help develop mental health and physical condition of the body. By participating in sports and games, someone gains various skills, experiences and self-confidence that help develop their personality.

Different cultures have developed unique sporting events as a past time. However, the some of them are as strange as they come.

Here are some them sporting events from around the world that you probably never heard of.

1. Cheese Rolling – a traditional event held in Gloucestershire, England where participants chase a wheel of cheese down a steep hill.

2. Wife Carrying – a Finnish sport where men carry their wives on their backs through an obstacle course.

3. Camel Wrestling – a popular sport in Turkey where male camels fight each other in a ring.

4. Toe Wrestling – a sport invented in the UK where two opponents lock toes and try to pin each other’s foot to the ground.

5. Ferret Legging – a bizarre competition in which contestants try to keep ferrets in their pants for as long as possible without wearing any underwear.

6. Bog Snorkeling – a sport where competitors swim through a peat bog as quickly as possible without using traditional swimming strokes.

7. Extreme Ironing – a sport where participants iron clothes in unusual and dangerous locations such as cliffs, forests, and even underwater.

8. Octopush – an underwater hockey game played with a puck and sticks.

9. Shin Kicking – a traditional sport from England where two participants kick each other in the shins until one falls to the ground.

10. Outhouse Racing – a sport where people race outhouses on wheels.
