Mt. Kenya – Nanyuki route 3 day hike itinerary

Here is the hiking itinerary for Summiting Mt.Kenya via the Nanyuki route with Kukweya Adventures.

Nairobi/Nanyuki/Old Moses on Day 1 Transfer from your hotel to Nairobi at 0600 hours, arriving in Nanyuki after 4 hours. Transfer to Sirimon Gate and hike for 3 to 4 hours (9 km) to Old Moses Camp for an overnight stop (3300m). You adjust to your surroundings in Old Moses Camp while also encountering several types of plants.

Day 2: Old Moses’ Camp at Shiptons After breakfast, travel through Likii and Makinders valleys to Shipton’s camp (4200m) for an overnight excursion (6 to 8 hours of hiking).

Day 3: Old Moses Camp, Shipton Camp, and Point Lenana Camp 9-10hrs, 21km Leave at 3 a.m. and go for around 3 hours to the point Lenana through a steep, stony quarry that passes through a visible cliff clearing. After sunrise, get to Shipton by going down.

Included in the cost are: a guaranteed fee and a guaranteed trek after confirmation; transportation to and from the mountain’s base; and full board lodging while on the trip. Meal schedule in full: L=Lunch, D=Dinner, and B=Breakfast. • Start and end in Nairobi; • Camps or huts as specified in the itinerary; • Government taxes included in all park admission costs; • An English-speaking professional guide, porters, and trained cook.
